A Love Birthday Cake for Frances

A Love Birthday Cake

My very good and super close friend Frances celebrated her 35th Birthday last June 6th. She hosted a small lunch dinner with her own close “Bisaya” group at Adobo Restaurant, a newly-opened resto that offers authentic Filipino cuisine in Muscat. For the celebration, I made her my very own signature cake – the chocolate blueberry cream cake.

The lunch was set at 12noon last Friday. However, I was in rush of making the cake because I just finished cleaning up the whole house after we came back from our vacation in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

In the end, I created this very simple yet so special cake.

The 4 inches high cake was filled with sweetened blueberry and natilla filling. I covered the moist chocolate cake with stabilized whipped cream. Just to give a bit of highlight on the cake, I made the birthday greeting using letters made of fondant.

Bits of chocolate were dotted on top of the cake but, too bad, because it’s now summer time in Oman and the temperature was so terribly hot, the chocolates started to melt as you can look closely in the picture.

The sides of the cake were also accentuated with hearts sugar. That’s why I call this a Love Birthday Cake because I fondly call Frances “my LOVE”.

All the guests have enjoyed every bit of the cake even the restaurant owner and crews. They said, it was their first time to taste such a different cake flavor with a very remarkable texture.

Then, Frances endorsed my cake to her friends and they said they will most likely to place order soon. Again, I’m glad I have found another set of clients because of my wonderful-yummy cakes.
