I have wonderful friends in High School. We call our group as “Berks” which is another name for Barkada, which means “group of friends”. Even when we went to college, have a family, and been relocated to other places in Philippines and abroad, still our friendship remains and we still continue communicating with each other.
When I came home to the Philippines after three years, I got the chance to spend some best times with my close friends. First, we had the celebration of Kathleen’s birthday at Geckos Disco and Videoke Bar. Then, I treat them to a barbeque dinner at 4 A’s. They were also invited during my kids’ joint birthday party.
A day before I left Surigao and fly back to Oman, they all decided to throw a farewell party for me and my family. I was extremely happy because I felt so special!
My two best pals, the couple, Atty. Jeffrey and Gemma, prepared a sumptuous dinner at their lovely home in Acean Heights Subdivision. We savored some homemade dish of fish, chicken, and pork. Truly delicious Filipino dishes!
We never run out of topics and stories that we felt like there’s no tomorrow. We keep on chatting, teasing, and laughing. It was really a fun night at Galido’s residence.
At around past 1o o’clock in the evening, we all agreed to extend our bonding at Tom’s Avenues which is the city’s famous videoke bar.
We booked a huge room and had the whole night singing and dancing with our favorite songs and music.
I remember our high school days that we really love to sing. We normally have videoke at home or simply do some jamming with plain guitar and some beat of the drums.
We ended at around past 2 o’clock in the morning and really had a good time. I am very thankful to my friends because of their effort to give me such a very nice send-off celebration.
I love you all my dear berks! Until we meet again!
