Last May 24th, I delivered the Cars 2 Birthday Cake for Xander’s 7th Birthday at Sand Dunes Hotel in Muscat, Oman. Truly, the cake was my first huge and heavy sweet creation that weighted around 8 kilos and measured 14 inches in length and 9 inches in width.
The cake was inspired by the famous Disney-Pixar sequel “Cars 2 Movie”which was released on June 24, 2011. The cake was sculpted into number 7 shape as requested by mommy Xiela. I used a rectangular pan of 12 x 9 inches and delicately did the cutting of the cake with a very sharp serrated knife. I added the cut-out portion of the cake dough as mountain and hill for an extra design to the cake.
The 3D cars were made of fondant. I also molded an airplane for an added attraction. Aren’t they look so cute?
The cake was made of red velvet and moist chocolate that were stack above each other and filled with glazed ganache.
I used cream cheese frosting tinted with hazel brown to emphasize the dirt road and reflected the adventure as you travel the historic Route 66 scene.
Xander’s name was engraved on fondant board and placed on the hillside. Then, there’s the airplane landing on the hilltop.
When I delivered the cake, I can’t help but took a souvenir picture.
and with my whole family at the photobooth section because we all love the “Cars Movies”.
Xander truly enjoyed and liked the cake so much. I am so thankful that another little child was made so happy by my cakes on his special birthday.
This is another wonderful “cakespiring story” shared to you by HAPPY BAKER DELIGHTS.
