My husband really loves to surprise me! Days before my 33rd birthday, he made a booking for his surprise dinner for us all at 360 Restaurant. It’s been my long time wish to dine it at this classy restaurant with a luxury shisha lounge in Ghala.
Many times, we happen to see the big signage of the restaurant at top of Al Nadha Towers everyday time we pass by the road from our way to work. I got intrigued of what kind of cuisines this restaurant offers to food lovers in Oman. I just say this words to my husband “I want to eat in there” each time we drive past the restaurant that is set on a penthouse of a hugel building with blue neon light outlines on top that can be very visible from the Sultan Qaboo highway. He jokingly ribbed off that “we will eat there and it’s your call”…then both laugh out loud because we know it is one of the many expensive restaurants in town.
Then, on my special day, my husband just simply shared the news that we will eat in a fine dining restaurant. I got so excited, that I dressed up myself beautifully in a royal blue flowing dress to look more ravishing. I also let the kids wear a casual suit while my sister shares with the excitement and looks fabulous with her sleeveless-knee-length ombre color dress.
We hop in the car and I noticed that we are heading to Ghala area, then he drive to Al Athaiba Bridge next to the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and into Ghala service road then going to Seeb. My heart jumps in happiness when our car stopped at the back side of Al Nadha tower. “I knew it! We will eat at 360 right?”, I exclaimed to my husband as he park the car right at the entrance of the building. Then he replied, “because it is your birthday and I want you to be happy”. Oh my heart melts away hearing those words from the man I love.
The way to the restaurant is at the back of the Al Nadha Towers II. You can see the standing banner at the door. We take an elevator to the penthouse. A lady staff made sure that we have reservations. It’s good thing that my husband made reservations ahead of time because they only serve a limited number of guest each evening as they are relatively new and are a bit understaffed at the moment.
We were warmly greeted by a Filipino beautiful and professional hostess for the evening. She took us to our reserved table. The seating area of 360 is quite a site and very spacious. I am awestruck by its ambience! It is literally 360 degrees in circular layout of indoors hall and two outdoors dining sections. The interior is careful designed with fine details of the fixtures and furniture, including the neon blue light that romantically highlighted the whole place. The decor is very charming even if it is a “Spooky Night” effect in time for the Halloween while the soft jazz music set the mood of the diners.
My husband reserved a spot in the live Teppanyaki and Sushi Station, which I am really excited about. Teppanyaki is a very entertaining form of Japanese cooking. It comes from the words “Teppan” which means “iron grill” and “Yaki” which means “grilled, broiled or pan-fried.” The live cooking will start not until 8:00PM and we have 30 – minutes to wait. So we quickly tour the place.
There is a separate area called the Coffee Shop, which is a non-smoking area, to enjoy chatting with friends in a great panoramic view. The “Sisha (arabic waterpipe) Area” on the other side of the penthouse has probably the best views of them all. You can lounge here and pay only 2.5 OR to smoke sisha.
After sometime, we head back to the Sushi station and check out the menus. To start things off, my sister and I ordered Giant Mix Platter of Chef’s 22 pieces of assorted Maki, Nigiri, and Sashimi (16.000 Omani Rials). We are so thrilled when I came to us like this:
All are yummiest sushis that we love! What I enjoyed among the sushis is the California Maki which is really great. The sushi is crispy and had a nice spicy kick to it even without the need to use the wasabi.
The Teppanyaki chef is a talented and entertaining man! He is a Filipino and is lot of fun as he cooked up our food.
My husband ordered “Oman’s Fisherman’s Choice with Calamari, Scallop, and King Prawns” (10 OMR). Because we ordered one of the main items on the Teppanyaki menu, it came with miso soup, salad and dessert. The salad was great while the pistachio ice cream is superb!
My son ordered the Habachi chicken-tender light chicken (6.000 OMR) that is so juicy and delicious that he asked for additional of egg fried rice (2.000). I really enjoy looking at my son finishing up all his meal and eating sushi at the same time.
For our drinks, we had the Mojito (2.500) and Tuscan Fresco (2.500 OMR) that are all made of real fruits and juices. For the dessert we had a Fresh Strawberry Cheesecake (3.000) which I thought was nice although I expect it to be made of real cream cheese instead of having a moist vanilla cake inside.
There is also the Tiramisu (2.800 OMR) and the Warm Italina Lava Cake (3.000) which my son and sister had enjoyed so much because both loves sweets that are made of deep dark chocolates.
In total we ordered 3 main courses, 2 drinks, 1 egg rice, 3 desserts, and 1 large bottle of water. Our bill came to RO 57.404 including municipality tax and service charge.
For me, the restaurant and has a nice location and not too far of a drive from just about any area within Muscat. The menus are equally superb and the price is quite reasonable. The outdoor view is also great at night especially when the weather is nice that will help you relax. I highly recommend this place to go for special occasion, romantic meals or anniversary celebrations. I will definitely go back there again and try their Sisha section…Cheers to 360 degrees and the whole team.

I am so thankful to my dear hubby for the special dinner and for me a beautiful birthday gift (make up set and gold watch). May our love knows no boundaries. May our faith stands the test of time. May our relationship keeps us strong. May we always cherish each other through the years. Because, above all that, I know, we both want to grow old with each other. I love you Jesse and I thank God each day for giving you to me. I feel so bless and wonderful with you.
