This cake is again another favorite flavor of my friend and colleague Shiela. I didn’t know that it was her birthday, until she was teased in the office to bring cake and cupcakes for the occasion. Immediately I offered to bake her a cake as my gift.
I used an extra dark chocolate powder in making the cake, it a dutch-processed choco with the name brand “Hintz chocolate” which was introduced to me by another friend baker Shing or Shiela when we have a baking lesson in their home last summer.
Although I am using the Hershey brand for my choco cake for years but I could also tell the difference when it comes to the quality of the powder between two brands. The Hintz choco powder is dark brown and more refined than the Hershey brand. So I started using the powder for special cakes like the one I made for my colleague and friend Shiela.
Other than coating the cake with a deep dark choco ganache, there are Hershey choco bars, choco dates, and choco sprinkles to add extra chocolatey goodness for the cake.ke
Shiela’s name on the cake is made of sugar gold pearls.
