I really love funfetti, I mean who can resist all those very colorful sprinkles buried in soft, fluffy cake!
I have tried baking two chocolate cakes with funfetti sprinkles.
This first cake was ordered by my regular clients Zeny and Kathy for their officemate Dony from Indonesia. The ladies wanted to surprise their good friend on his birthday party at his home.
The cake is simply decorated with sequins funfetti but it is really moist and soft inside. I made it colorful for the guests to get attracted to the cake.
I was not mistaken because after the party Kathy told me that they even got a very small portion of the cake since almost all the guests have eaten it. They felt like they need to order for their own consumption instead.
The second cake was for my son’s last day of school.
I have the same choco funfetti cake but this time it has maltesers chocolate balls on top.
My son came home with some pieces of the cake but all the maltesers on top were gone. He brought the cake home since I told him I want to bring some pieces of cake for us to eat at home. 🙂 LOL ..
Using funfettin in cakes is fun. I really love the colors it brought to the cake. In the same manner, I also love my own choco cake reci[e base because it’s fast and easy to make, and the cakes always turn out supremely moist, springy, and fluffy thanks to buttermilk, sour cream, and oil. That trifecta of moisturizing and tenderizing ingredients makes it impossible to have a dry cake.
And oh the choco ganache.. is addictive! it is really a heavenly cake!
