Malaika Louise is the second child of proud parents Elmer and Evelyn. The family fondly call her baby “LIKE” because she is a little bundle of joy and truly a wonderful gift from God and her family LIKE and love her so much. When she was welcomed to the Christian community, my family and I went off to Abu Dhabi in United Arab Emirates not just to celebrate with the family but also to make the little baby’s BAPTISMAL CAKE.
A month before the schedule of baby Like’s baptism, I am already browsing the internet for many wonderful ideas and amazing design for her cake. It turned out that this cake was a conglomeration of the many ideas I found online.
It was a two-tier cake made of moist chocolate and red velvet. The first layer was covered with fondant icing in purple and ruffles design. The second layer was decorated with the big CROSS, baby figurine, flowerettes, and butterflies.
The gap of two cakes was covered with purple balls made of rolled-fondant icing. There were also gold dragees on cross and on the flowers. Below the cake were the name blocks with Like’sName in gold and bold letters.
The cake was predominantly in purple and pink color because they were Mommy Evelyn’s favorite. After decorating, the cake’s total weight was about 8 kilograms. When brought to the reception venue, it sat so prettily on the dessert buffet table.
