This is the last stop of our day. The Turtle Reserve Center is a hotel and sanctuary rolled into one. The check-in guests and walk-in tourists are privilege to visit the Museum (1 OMR) and watch turtle nesting (3 OMR) in the evening or early morning.
The audio-aided Turtle Museum has a wonderful and very informative display of the turtle life cycle and the early settlements in Ras Al Jinz.
While we headed back to the center at around 8:30PM and walked 10-15 minutes to the beachfront.
For nearly two hours we witnessed the amazing life of big turtles on shores and digging holes to lay their eggs.
These turtles are around 120cm in length and weights around 80 kilos. We were so careful and not allowed take pictures so as not to disturb these giant reptiles.
With our dim lighted torches, we also channeled the newly hatched tiny turtles to the sea. Indeed, it was the nicest experience of our visit.
