After almost two years, I have finally completed the four courses of Wilton’s Cake Decorating Method. This is another achievement in my cake decorating skills and my lifetime inspiration.
In Course 1, we learn a broad set of buttercream decorating techniques using the Wilton Method. There are four lessons: lesson 1 is about the basic and decorating cookies; lesson 2 is on decorating a cake; lesson 3 is on decorating cupcakes; and lesson 4 is where we created our final cake project.
The Wilton Method Course 2 focuses on Flowers and Cake Design where we learn the core techniques in making a wide variety of flowers, such as pansies, apple blossoms, daffodils, lilies and The Wilton Rose™ using the Wilton’s Royal Icing recipe.
The Wilton Decorating Course 3 uses Gum Paste and Fondant in decorating the cake. The course allows us to develop new skills working comfortably with fondant and gum paste and apply them to create intricate shapes, artistic borders, numerous flowers, and much more. For our final project, I created a cake for mother’s day.
The last and final course 4 is about advanced gum paste flowers which we created fantastic lifelike leaves and flowers that are ideal for wedding cakes. The end project is a bouquet of edible flowers that will totally bring cake decorations to life!
Thank you Lord for the wonderful opportunities and to my teachers for sharing their talents. I am forever grateful.
