Travel Theme: CIRCLES

During the National Holiday of Oman, we travel in the bustling little town of Nizwa. We take breakfast at a Turkish Restaurant then head straight to the famous and old Nizwa Souq where we find potteries and all kinds of Oman’s crafts and artifacts.

Nizwa was once the center of commerce among merchants and traders from the southern Arab Peninsula to the Northern Gulf Region. Adjacent to the souq or marketplace is a huge Nizwa Fort that was known to be the massive defense citadel against Persian invaders in the ancient times. Here we find interesting exhibits and wander around into its dungeons and labyrinth alleyways.

So for this week’s travel theme challenge of Ailsa’s where’s my backpack, here is my entry about the many CIRCLES found in this historic and beautiful city of Nizwa.
