This is another wonderful opportunity for me to further enhance my skills on cake decorating. I must confess I am one of more than 4.5 million of people who have experienced the excitement of learning to decorate cakes with Gum Paste and Fondant. Well, I guess another personal goal will be stroked out before the end of this year!
I had finished Wilton Course 1 last November, but we skip Course 2 as it was requested by my classmates. It was last April 17th that our first on Wilton Course Method 3 started. The course allows us to develop new skills working comfortably with fondant and gum paste and apply them to create intricate shapes, artistic borders, numerous flowers, and much more.
Our training started from 4:30PM to 7:30PM, that’s roughly 4 hours of intensive demo and practical hands-on activity. There were ten girls in the class, among which were my other three fellow Filipino friends – Emelyn, Dina, and Nida. So far we had finished two lessons, where we prepare and color gum paste and fondant, created a multi-looped bow, carnation flower, rose flower, and calla lily.
Our trainer, Ms. Jannan, is an Omani expert on cake decorating. She is a very nice lady and shares to us all of her decorating ideas that are not found on the book or any blog. Later, she will help us each step of the way as we learn to design and create a complete project using all your new skills and techniques.
I am so feeling giddy! I can’t wait to create my final fondant cake project next week.
I’ll share the things I have learn in this very exciting and rewarding course offered exclusively by Wilton. So, watch out for my next posts.
See yah later.
Lots of Love,
Riah – the Happy baker 🙂
